Cahokia Mounds Interpretive Center Roof Replacement

The Capital Development Board selected GreenAssociates to design the roof replacement of the Cahokia Mounds Interpretive Center in Collinsville, Illinois.

The existing seam roof had

deteriorated due to the application of a coating system. The failing internal gutter system had caused the fascia and soffit system to badly deteriorate as well. Following a comprehensive review of the roof system along with the deterioration inside the soffit system, it was determined that there was significant wood damage.

Along with the roof design, there was the historic nature of the museum and other projects being completed at the same time that created a lot of coordination issues during the design process. The total construction costs were $1.02 million.

"Todd from GreenAssociates did an excellent job for us during our roof replacement project. He was professional and always willing to assist with any questions regarding the process, materials, or vendors; even during non-working hours. We greatly appreciated his and GreenAssociates role in this major state project and we are very satisfied with the new roof.”
