The library at Butterfield Elementary School was a windowless space originally designed in the 1970s. Dark carpeting and finishes contributed to the closed in, unwelcoming feel of this space.
GreenAssociates was asked to address the overall appeal and functionality of the space.
To do this, we brightened the space by adding lighting and brighter colors to make the space more inviting. Adding technology and workstations to the library helped to bring it into the twenty-first century. A bright jungle mural on the story area wall invite children to explore the space further.
